Who We Are...
Souled Out is an interdenominational ministry to high school students and is brought to you by Bethesda Church of Huron. Each week Jeremy Blom and the Souled Out Band lead worship and Dirk Helmling leads the bible study. It takes a small army of people to make Souled Out happen so don’t be surprised when you see adult youth workers hanging around. These are men and women who love the Lord Jesus and love students too. They are there each and every week to be a part of the lives of high school students, so get to know them. We promise you’ll be glad you did. What We Do...
Souled Out exists to challenge and equip high school students to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ. This primarily happens through the worship, bible teaching, and discipleship provided each week through Souled Out. Our ministry also provides a unique and really sweet coffee house, a place for students to hang out for fellowship and to build community. And for those students interested, we offer d-groups. What's a d-group you might ask? D-groups are the bomb! They're small discipleship groups consisting of 5 to 8 students and led by one of our youth workers. Together, the students and leader from each d-group pick a designated set time to meet each week for an hour or two. During that hour or two over the course of the semester, you begin to learn what it means to be a committed follower of Jesus Christ. If you're in a d-group, Souled Out provides all the bible study materials you need. All you need to do is sign up, do the work assigned, and then show up to your d-group meetings each week. To learn more about d-groups, track Dirk down and ask him about them. You'll have 2 weeks at the beginning of each semester to sign up. Once the d-groups get started, we close them off, so if you don't get in one at the beginning of the semester, you'll have to wait until the following semester to sign up again.
What To Expect...
We hope you'll feel welcome. You can expect times of corporate, authentic, intimate worship while you're at Souled Out. You can also expect to be challenged in your faith, no matter where you are right now spiritually. Some nights you might leave encouraged and smiling, other nights you might leave feeling like someone got all up in your grill. In either case, our prayer is that you have a life-changing encounter with the God of the universe. You can expect solid, applicable bible teaching that makes sense and that you can apply to your everyday life. You'll have opportunities to get plugged into a small d-group where you can learn to be transparent and vulnerable, while enjoying sweet fellowship with other believers, all the while learning to apply God's Word to your life. Last but not least, we hope you'll enjoy the variety of drinks and snacks that are yours for the taking at the Souled Out Coffee House.
Come check us out! We'd love to see you THIS Wednesday night. It all starts shakin’ at 7 p.m. If you’re hungry, come at 6.30 for dinner and don’t forget to bring a buck or two to cover your meal.
